Nov. 18- 22

Sorry this is coming to you on Tuesday night. I was out of town all weekend and between playing catch up at school, meetings, and getting end of six weeks stuff turned in, I am running a late!

We took end of 6 weeks tests last week and they did AWESOME! I am so proud of their hard work. I need to confirm, but I do believe we may have been one of the highest scoring classes.

Spelling - words that have ee and ea. My students seem to be doing MUCH better with spelling. I am impressed with how many 110's I have been having. Keep it up!

Reading at home/reading logs are getting better. As of today, there were only 3 that weren't signed. That's down from last weeks 5-6 on any given day. Thank you for making reading a priority!

Last week we conquered telling time. They blew me away with how much they already knew! It seemed to come easy for them and they did very well. This week we started money. Again, I am super proud of how much they already know! These are both pretty hard concepts and usually 2nd graders struggle…. but not these kiddos!

Last week I also re-tested them on their PM (reading) levels. Many of them moved up and have showed a lot of improvement in their reading. This is awesome and we are right on track for the year! Keep up your hard work at school and at home.

Friday we will have an early release… be looking for notes in their black binders.
Next week is only a 2 day week for Thanksgiving. Enjoy the time with your families.

Thank you for all you do with your children to help them succeed in school.

Mrs. Hilbig
